Scanners and Graphics Tablets...System Resources

Using an Intel iMac G5:

While checking on system functions recently I noticed that I had 3 processes running:CIJScannerRegister, CNQL1213_ButtonManager and Tablet Driver even though my scanner and graphics tablets are not connected.

From what I can gather from internet research, devices which use "single button scan"...the scanner or
graphics tablets will be polled regularly to check for activity wether they are switched or not.

On checking the Network Activity after "killing" these processes, it reduces significantly.

I have uninstalled the tablet driver but can not stop the scanner processes from starting up at boot, I have to
do it via the Activity Monitor.

If you have installed scanners or graphics tablets in the past which you no longer use, it may be well worth
looking into uninstalling or other methods of stopping unnecessary processes running. This may well be
Mac specific and if anyone can shed some light on PC usage, please do.
