Does anyone know of anything happening locally?

Thanks @proactive I was thinking more of one off stuff, we've got Trentham, Weston Park and National Trust passes anyway but looking to mix it up a bit if possible.

Depends on the kids’ ages but our grandkids (6&8) love it at the wildlife centre at Wolseley bridge. Take some bird seed & feed the ducks & geese. There’s a little sunken bridge in a shallow brook that’s great for a paddle (best leaving that til the end). There’s a café there but it’s a bit pricey ( it is a charity though). There’s plenty of room for a picnic if you take your own.
The carpark gets busy but we always park on the garden centre overflow carpark & walk through the woods along the waterside. It’s well worth a couple of hours.

I have the boy booked in for 2 weeks at BeeActive at Beaconside - I figure after a week away with us, then a week up North seeing Granny he may actually want to spend time with people his own age.

I do feel we've done a lot of stuff locally, and his enthusiasm (and mine) for 'let's just go for a walk' has waned a little over 18months of lockdowns - so I'm always on the look out for suggestions.

Especially if there's a playpark of some description.

I try and keep track of where we've been on 'the boy's' twitter account #ParkRating
Carisington Water had a great park, as did Walsall Arboretum, Telford and Tamworth Castle.

for reference the boy is 6 and play parks are everything...

Have a look what's going on in Victoria Park, I was there last week and was blown away by the amazing renovations!

I believe they have live music and events on in the bandstand throughout the summer!

Spent today at Thurstaston Beach on the Wirral. About 80 miles, car park is £2 for all day. It’s down a load of steps and the beach is a mix of sand and stone. We had a great day and will certainly make another trip there soon.
There is a cafe nearby but we took meal deals from Tesco.
