Too bad our upcoming Labour government think that crime is funny and sentencing is something other countries do :(

Hmmmm

Why are we so pro-crime here? I don't understand it. Surely if someone is clearly not fit to be in society, we should just remove them from it.

Makes no sense why we treat criminals better than victims.

I'm all for locking up criminals, but I just don't see the Tories doing any more than Labour did to action this. Until the majority of prisons are privatised I don't imagine they'll care either, prisoners cost money and if you aren't making a side wage from it you won't want to increase this cost to the country.

I'm pretty sure if it weren't for thinks like pesky human rights, or the ECHR, and we had an outright conservative government that they would find significant savings in the prison system.

But we mustn't offend them or do anything against their rights, we don't want them to cry do we?

Bleeding-heart liberals are at the centre of every political party. That must be because it's what the public wants...

Ta, but it was June just gone. I was a witness to a nobjockey in a BMW threatening someone right outside the college, which I filmed. He denied everything despite my fancy new Sony phone having rather good camera and sound, until the day of the trial when he pleaded guilty after we'd sat around for a few hours.

Small fine, curfew order for 2 months and community service at weekends for a year iirc. If he hadn't been such an obvious tool I wouldn't have got my camera out, but he was acting such an odious prick I wanted proof for the police.

The funniest bit was he called the police himself, then got shitty with them when they arrived!
