I'm not sure how true this is but I heard that the Seven Stars at Brocton has been sold.

Apparently it's going to be renovated and turned into a gastropub.

Does it not already do food?

It does do food but never in a million years could it be called a gastro pub.

I've had the carvery, and while it was pleasant enough, it was so dingy inside it put me off going again.

It's definitely due a refurb that's for sure.

I haven't been in there for thirty years - since the infamous minibus incident.

You've been there before.

One cannot help being sceptical when

On a previous occasion a new local restaurant set out its advertising campaign claiming amazing food, only to three weeks later, advertise for an entire kitchen staff

I mean, how thefuck would they know

And given the cuisine desert that is Stafford you wouldn't really have high expectations from out of the kitchen in the first place.

Having been into a lot of Indian restaurant kitchens in the course of work over the years, you'd be surprised (or maybe not) at the amount of Sharwoods curry pastes etc that are in use.
