Shark Vs Dyson.

I’m after a new cordless hoover.

Had a dyson it was brill, but the battery life was crap after a couple of years.

Replaced it with a shark, battery life was brill but everything else was sub par compared to the dyson. Muddled through with it but the suction is shite on carpets, it’s forever blocked up with the smallest debris and I’m past the point of having any patience with it.

I’d go back to a dyson tomorrow, except the latest all singing and dancing ones are pushing £700 and that’s a LOT of money.

Can anyone tell me if the sharks have improved in the last 2/3 years or convince me that the dyson is definitely worth the investment and what the battery life is like with the newer models?

Unless you can borrow a Shark and a Dyson to test its difficult to judge which is the more efficient in cleaning. Regarding the battery life it's easy to change the battery, we have an old Dyson and I've replaced the battery twice. My wife reckons the Dyson is brilliant but I still think the old fashioned Miele before EU restrictions is best as it has almost enough suction to almost pull the carpet off the floor.

The Dyson hubby brought from his office is now in the shed as an emergency go-to. Bloody useless , the battery charge only lasted for one hoover. Give me my good old hoover any day!

I use both the newest cordless dyson and the cordless shark on a daily basis … dyson is the better of the 2 in my opinion. Better battery too

Had one of these for at least 3 years and still as good as the day I bought it.
Easy to clean & empty, battery will still run long enough to do a one bed flat with ease.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I recently invested in a Ewbank carpet sweeper, as I was sick of lugging the upright and or cylinder vac about......it's bloody priceless for little jobs!

Bloody hell , forgot all about them. My mum and gran used to have them. Think I might invest in one instead of carting the hoover round and changing plug sockets for quick clear ups.

moved all of his manufacturing out of the UK because of the Brexit
He'd moved much of it to Eastern Europe before Brexit and made many of his UK staff redundant, reputedly having previously persuaded them to accept low wages to enable him to get the company going. Having supported Brexit he promptly moved to Singapore - although he may have moved back since. I certainly wouldn't buy anything Dyson

Sorry Jonah the Dyson won in the end.

Currently £100 off, ordered yesterday arrived this morning at 9am.

I love it (I’m so sad) absolutely disgusted with the crap it got up off my carpets, seems like the shark was more sh*te than I thought. It’s ok (ish) on hard floors but almost useless on carpets.

Questionable Politics aside, the dyson is definitely the best. And whilst I totally agree with the sentiment there are worse out there if we want to start boycotting household names.

One bonus of a Dyson, as I just discovered, is the abundance of spare part suppliers. Our V10 lost its red ring… AliExpress had no less than 20 listings for £8-10 to choose from on 2 week shipping. Good as new.
