In there now. The cider has gone, had to have thatchers. Not too impressed, will probably head somewhere that sells more than 1 in future if they aren't going to change over when it runs out.

Went in for a drink between Christmas and New Year with a group of about 10 others. The service at the bar was a little slow but nothing out of the ordinary and I liked how it had been done out but my and others main issue that night was the temperature. It was far too hot. So much so we only had one drink before moving on to the Rose and Crown

Beer was in excellent condition. However there is no reason to call last orders at 10:40 when the pub is quiet. 10 to 11 should be an adequate amount of time to serve everyone before 11. Bell for the end of last orders was called at 7 minutes to Eleven and the barmaid vacated the bar to go and play on the fruit machine. I have a sense of an underlying bad attitude to service that may be more apparent than real.but first impressions count.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Well round two of our scientific comparison tour is taking place. The Shrew was our first port of call and we found it as good as the last time we went on tour before Christmas. Decent beer, good atmosphere and friendly staff. We then moved on to Bates' gun shop and are now settling in at the Floodgate.

More tour news next week...

Fair play. Non of us is a regular cider drinker so it didn't bother us. Poor show though, they need to get that sorted as they'll miss a decent chunk of business otherwise.
They still had thatchers gold but I don't get out that often, so won't waste a free evening on something I can drink anywhere. Went to number 7, drank dunkertons, had a good night!
