Can I interject with a random recommendation?
If you have moisture in your car, put some crystalised cat litter in a sock and leave it on the dashboard. I haven't had to wipe the inside of my windows once in the latest cold snap! Especially useful for older cars, like mine!

It doesn't matter so much in the current cold weather, but the cat litter should be unused.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Heated screen washers in an electric car seem like a good idea, if I have them its obviously too cold.🥶
Was up and about at sparrow fart this morning. -8 it was. But the car was toasty and warm, no frost on the windows. Smug factor 10 it was. Didn't stop the minor roads getting to the motorway being slippery though. Maybe we could have heated roads?

That's one of the things wrong with the Vauxhall Viva we have now. Would be there all day waiting for just the blowers to clear the misted up windows even in good weather. No chance of it keeping clear without a cloth to constantly wipe down for a mile or so , after scraping & de-icer spray on the outside in these icy conditions.
Luckily sons Corsa clears his completely within a minute or so of the engine starting as he's also got heated front windows. He's taken his windscreen cover back tonight , that he lent me for the airport runs .He's trying minimising scraping at 4am each morning to get to work in these conditions. As soon as I took the cover off ours it froze over solid again within a couple of minutes.

Minus 7C at the moment.

I did actually think whilst doing a covid test tonight...I should have saved all those little moisture packet things which come in each test pack, and stick them around the car...

-7 at the moment and possible snow tonight here according to my phone.
Got here to the hairdressers a bit safer this morning. Ditched my new Timberland walking boots I paid a fortune for the other week (and bloody hard work walking the same route yesterday) and in my desperation found some old forgotten Matalan boots I'd saved for best years ago . My 'new' favourites now, a doddle to walk in on ice and even look good :)
Got to get back home yet...

Last month I was reprimanded at work for being 10mins late - a week in a row.
We had a yellow weather warning and 3ft of snow - I live in rural Aberdeenshire and getting out to work took me over an hour - no sympathy.

Today my boss has 3 inches of snow and was an hour and a half late.

Guess who's calling a snow day for the rest of the week?

Me!! feck that!

That is INSANE!

I am so sorry!!

They can stick 3% up their arse!!
Exactly what I think,.......I worked the whole way through it.....while in the middle of it, if you caught it it wasn't counted against your sickness record.....not recorded.......now after nearly 3 years I get it, I'm TOO ILL TO WORK.....but no leniency.....what the hell did we do all of that stuff for....(queuing, distancing, rules,) what was that farking for......it took nearly 2 years of my life.....worse for the carer who was furloughed.....WHAT THE feck FOR????
