What's up with it? The main problem is usually a failure to pressurise as the pump washer has failed.

It's in the pump - on the end of the rod where the black handle is here, where you pump it up to pressurise the tank.

I have got spares in Henry Burton years ago. I wonder if they are still readily available in these modern times, though..?

They're a fairly simple device. If they will pressurise, not leak and the jet isn't blocked, then they have little choice but to work properly..

Ah, right. I see that that might seem a strange place to suggest. I suggest them, because they would use the necessary cup washers in the old-style bicycle pumps. I got a genuine old-style leather one there, but it must be 15/20 years ago.

Take the old one or the pump tube with you, there are various sizes, if they're still available.

Thank you Stoof and Gram I am at present struggling to remove the old washer thats held by a hex nut

I give up not mechanically adept..; I will have to trawl it round Buxtons se if they can fix it
