Yep, it's official the base layer of Riverside is affected by councillus giganteus whoppus and there's no known cure. The building must be demolished before the spores spread to nearby local government habitats.

Mr. Hill is no more - Stafford's loss is Bristol's gain.

One wonders whether his departure, lamented though it undoubtedly is and will forever be, might usher in a return to reason.

One has, unfortunately, learned not to live in hope.

Wasn't that him waving off the 10k runners last week? His final council engagement?

Anyone read Peter Atkin's column in the E&S?

One should point out that if the Rangers had been gifted over £1.5m over the last 8 years (as STFC have) then relegation from ANY league would be highly unlikely never mind the one they're in at present.

One also has absolutely no idea, based on the indicated huge revenue streams to the new 3G pitch as highlighted and by Mr Atkins, why the council (main recipient of said revenue streams) would not want a similar facility built next door by the cricket and hockey club on their land :strange:

Move on, nothing whatsoever to see here:mystery:

He's back, apparently. At least, he's being quoted on the Express & Star front page today, in relation to Stone. Maybe they decided he was indispensable and offered more money?

Or Bristol thought he was crap, sacked him and he came crawling back to his own kind.

Or possible the Distress & Star have got it wrong, again...

It will take more than that to spoil a perfectly good conspiracy. The Chief of Leisure seen recently is actually a hologram, projected to Earth from planet Zog. Council officials are slowly being replaced.

But what if @The Truth is one of Them

Damn, another conspiracy theory bites the dust.

This will not do...
I feel partly, if not wholly, responsible for any ongoing ambiguity - my reportage of his outgoing did rather imply it was effective immediately.

For which, apologies - but outgoing he most definitely is.

Which leaves us, as he leaves us, with two rather interesting questions -

1) His 'legacy' is to abandon an entire* department (Leisure & Culture), the 'portfolio' that had been under his curatorship, to be taken on by outside interests. Cast adrift from SBC control and to be taken up by a newly created charitable trust.

Q1. Will this mean that decisions that could potentially effect the 'financial' interests of what had previously been SBC 'assets', but are now the 'assets' of an as yet undecided third party, become less of a proverbial 'political football'?

If so, this could be good news for the Hockey Club, and is certainly worth bearing in mind if they wish to 'keep the powder dry' sort of thing.

2) The land grant and monies spent at the Evans Park site would suggest that it is also part of the SBC (Leisure & Culture) portfolio, one of the 'assets' that are to be included in the transfer to an as yet undecided charitable trust. As far as i am aware the 'portfolio' of 'assets includes everything *except Victoria Park and Wildwood Park.

Q2. Is Evans Park part of the SBC (Leisure & Culture) portfolio?

If not, a) why is it not included in the transfer to trust status? and b) why has so much money been spent on it, and to whos benefit?

** the second * picked up the first *
