There was talk before on another thread about having a bit of a breakfast club type meeting for local businesses at the pie and ale and it kinda fizzled out a bit and I was really interested so though I'd bring it back up!
I've merged the threads to keep all the information in one place, as I think this is a really fantastic idea and I want to encourage it as much as possible. To that end, I have edited the thread title to include Vault_girl's :pie: suffix, as we all know pie is a great motivator. ;)

Do you need to have a business to eat pie? :strange:
No, but I think Vault_girl (as well as the OP) are just proposing a "Local Business owner" get-together, with :pie:-based incentives. :P

Which means I'm going to have to turn to prostitution to qualify as a business person, to qualify for a pie...

Hello guys. I'm up for everyone meeting here. We can make the room upstairs available for this, be it weekly or monthly. We open @ 9am, close @ 11pm, so whenever really. Perhaps a Friday after work event might fit in with most people???

Who would be up for this? when would you want it - lunch times, after work, or breakfast (when do they open?) or even weekends?
how often would people like it to be - once a month? every other week?

I think the general consensus was that it would be a very informal meet up - no strict "you must be here or you are no longer welcome" and no fees to join - you just have to pay for your own food and drink.

As I said I'd be really up for this and would love to organise something and meet a few local businesses in the area. I think it could be a great networking tool for us and also a great way to just make some new friends!

So who would be interested and when could they do it? I'm fairly flexible and can make space for pretty much whenever as long as I have a few days notice but I know a lot of other people might not be available during normal office hours etc.
I guess we would need somewhere fairly quiet to sit to talk about whatever it is we will talk about which may affect when it could happen.
This was originally my thread so I would definitely be up for it and maybe helping to organise it too? Before or after work would be good for me, am guessing after would be better if its going to be a pie based meeting :)

I really will take minutes if you need them :) Or I also will be joining Florence at the street corner swinging my handbag in order to qualify as "Local Business".....

So we're down to Tuesdays and Wednesdays OR weekends. I prefer to keep my Wednesdays free as mid week is usually a good evening to do things but if it was every other week or one a month I wouldn't mind, it just depends when others can do. Perhaps we should organise another (or a regular) stafford forumites pie club meet up for those who wish to eat pie but aren't local business owners.

So far there is four of us on here interested and I think I could find another 3 or 4 people (who are on this forum) to join. Does anyone know of anyone else?

Thank you to Pie & Ale for the lovely offer of roomage.

I'd prefer it to be after work of an evening rather than the weekend just because its easier to work around children. When I originally suggested the idea I was thinking about once a month - I think that's a decent amount of time between meetings to build up any ideas or issues, especially as we are always discussing 'stuff' on here anyway :)
