Is there any mileage in establishing such a thing?

If so, post rides here.

Sounds good, although I've not properly been out on mine for months and am well out of shape! Plus I could only make Sundays at best.

Very rare that I have any free time to get out on the bike, but I do need to start using it more.

So although I will rarely be there, I will try and get along. Especially now I know another forum member ;)

As earlier discussed with URL (not his date of birth), will endeavour to post something soon - whether anyone else turns up or not is an entirely different matter. :)

Just thought it might be nice to have somewhere to flag up when you are fit for a ride to see if anyone else is up for it -

- i'll try and wangle a Sunday sometime soonish too.

These things tend to be of a 'when-you-can-fit-it-in' nature - if someone else is on the same timescale it's nice to have a riding buddy. If only to have someone there to laugh at you when you fall off... :)

You'd be doing a lot of laughing!

Agreed that it's a 'when-you-can-fit-it-in' game. We used to go over the Chase every Sunday for a few hours, rain or shine (even snow on more than one occasion), but that was before the kiddy-winks came along!

My missus goes to church Sunday mornings so that's when I'd maybe get the odd chance to go, providing I've done my chores!:)

Good man - if you can wangle the possibility post it up, i'll make double efforts to make it so. :)

I'm already planning a Thur(04/09) am ride next week - thinking ~10.00 am - meet-point either Milford, Marquis Drive or Birches Valley?

Personally i'd be riding to meet point but realise that others may be driving thence - what/where would be best?

Think it better all round if a dedicated, nominated start-point is agreed upon - open as to where...

By a strange quirk of fate, i could fit in a ride tomorrow (Sun 07/09).

It would have (or 'of') to be am - finished by ~11.59 am (to avoid a lack of confusion) at the latest - and start from Milford environs. Realise this is rather late in the day but thought i would 'toss it in the seed tray, see if the budgie bites' sort of thing. I didn't get where i am today without tossing it etc etc.

A double deffo - barring any interim disasters - is Tuesday (09/09), plan to be out whether with anyone or no, flexible on meet-point for that one if anyone's up for it.

Is anyone up for either?

They're roadie rides aren't they?

I'm more in to off-road, rad to the power of gnar, that sort of thing. :)

I don't really need guiding - have been riding the Chase on and off for the best (or possibly worst) part of twenty years or more.

I know there are a few MTB riders on here - Catabatic, Stoofer, My Name Is URL & shoes(possibly not anymore?) spring readily to mind - and wondered if they fancied a bit of knobbly-tyred fun.

Still looking at Tuesday (09/09) if there are any takers?

I regularly cycle on my hard tail and road bike. I use the chase a lot, but also go further afield and try other trail centres too. Yesterday I went to Gisburn Forest and recommend others try its MTB red route. I'm keen to experience cycling with other people, as cycling in a group is always more fun. Loop me in with any meets – road or off road.

Will do  - though i'm keeping this thread as a MTB ride notification whatsit.

Not been to Gisburn - recently did Sherwood Pines, it was ok but nothing hugely special. Certainly not particularly worth the journey when the Chase is on your doorstep. :)

Yes, me too. Did the Monkey today and, to give an idea of how long it's been since i did that, today was the first time i saw the funky new (!) railway crossing.

Don't know why i decided to descend the Staircase at the split - i hadn't intended to and had virtually blown my lungs out of my arse on Cardiac Hill - was decidedly not feeling 'in the zone'. Glad i did though - the Five Ways section wasn't there when i went last and is excellent - it was much fun and perfect conditions for it. A lot of climbing, though, and i felt f**ked afterwards.

Will probably be back out either Monday or Tuesday next week if that sounds suitable to anyone?

Sorry, couldn't make either of those rides and not sure when I will have chance to get out. I'll keep checking in and hopefully make one at some point.

Not been out in an age though so I'd probably be lagging behind a fair bi
