Stafford Forum Trip To Alton Towers

Tenshon has procured 30, yes 30 free tickets to Alton Towers to be used up by the end of October.
This could be the first Stafford Forum event, but we need to decide on a day to go. The next 2 weekends are out, so the only available weekend would be 28/29th. Otherwise we could perhaps go in a week day.
First people who post on here get the tickets i guess, so if you are up for it post saying 'count me in biznotch' and give a suggestion as to what day you would prefer to go. Let us know what yas saying like....

I'm seriously scared of heights and, until I went to Alton Towers with Upsetter and a few others about 5 years ago, I'd never been on a proper rollercoaster, believe it or not.

So, we get there on a Sunday after a couple of nights of pretty serious bender (as in session, not as in gay) action, and everyone says "Let's go on Oblivion".

The rest is history.

We bought some of those rip-off photos you get at the end of the rides, because of the hilarious face pulling (not just me, although I was the worst), and every so often we get them out and laugh like a couple of twats.

The funniest one was on The Black Hole, as it was the last ride we went on, so by then my nerves were shot to shit.

Unfortunately I'd have to decline any invite for the same reason as Jimbob. Well the "I'm shit scared of the rides" reason. I don't live in London thank feck.

hold on, i think there's something important that needs to be addressed here.. i have never, in my entire life, met anyone at all who was too scared to go on fairground rides.. and yet, within our small community here at the forum, are you saying we have two grown men who can claim exactly that???

honestly, i'm not taking the piss, i'm genuinely shocked! i'm a right pansy, and scardless shitless of heights, but rides don't bother me at all

I think because we went on Oblivion first, it kind of put me in a state of shock for the rest of the day. I didn't mind any of the other rides as such, but they kind of shook me up because I'd been so scared of the height on that bad boy and my nerves were absolutely shot to pieces.

Being up that high, and being suspended like that really gets to me. You should have seen me on the London Eye - the shakes, sweaty palms; the works. My body just packs up.

see, i would be scared on the london eye.. i'd go so far as to say you probably wouldn't get me on it.. but rollercoasters don't even phaze me.. in fact, i haven't been to alton towers in about 5 years, because to be honest i find them a bit boring now!
