Just come from Milford way and there is masses of smoke coming from Baswich area. Twitter reports suggest a load of fireworks have caught fire somewhere over that way? Would tie in with the mass of blues and twos that i've seen going that way.

Anyone know anything?

Fireworks warehouse on the Baswich Lane industrial estate by the canal has gone up - masses of smoke and a lot of explosions for about the last 20 minutes or so

Fireworks have stopped but I can still see an orange glow from the top of Kingston Hill, must be properly on fire

Hope no-one's been hurt down there

I live just around the corner. I heard fireworks start to go off, but it soon escalated into a ridiculous amount of fireworks exploding for 2 or 3 minutes, then I heard a bunch of sirens heading in that direction - there's still sirens heading in that direction now.

Here's a pic taken from my back garden. If you look above the tree in my neighbour's garden you can see the big cloud of smoke coming from the place: -

Evacuation underway due to fireworks factory blaze
Homes and businesses are being evacuated in the area around a major blaze at a fireworks factory in Stafford this evening.

Road closures are in place and people have been urged to avoid the area around Tilcon Avenue, after the fire broke out at around 5.15pm.

A cordon has been put in place around the unit, and people living nearby have been urged to keep their doors and windows closed due to thick plumes of black smoke coming from the site.

SP fireworeks aren't having much luck then. Didn't their container of fireworks for their demo display on the A449 near to Penkridge get robbed only last year or the year before?

Anyway
, for anyone living in the area keep those windows TIGHTLY shut. SP stands for Stafford Plastics which is their primary business. You don't want to be inhaling the smoke off that!
