Hello,

My family and I are moving to the area in August with primary school aged children; I am starting to complete the in year application form but I am unsure which school is mostly recommended, going by the ofsted reports there are a few outstanding schools however these reports date are 3 or more years old and the statistics haven't been updated on the GOV site since pre covid.

Does anybody have an opinion of the following schools and how is the experience for them and their children?

Oakridge
Parkside
St John's Primary Academy
Leasowes
Barnfields
Veritas

Thanks in advance

My son went to Barnfields , enjoyed it and did well ( although he's 26 now , so that was a while ago ).
I Worked at both Barnfields and Oakridge. In my opinion Barnfields is good & out of the 2 I'd go for Barnfields in terms of kids getting on well with each other. .
I discovered at my time of working in the schools that Oakridge parents only wanted their little darlings mixing with the chosen few with successful businesses ....

( example...my friend was going to coffee mornings pre- school days with a group of friends met in baby group. When the children were about to start at school, she was asked not to go to the coffee mornings anymore, as they only wanted their children mixing with certain ones starting Oakridge and My friends daughter was going to Leasowes so not good enough! )

There are no 'bad' schools in Stafford.

There are no 'good' schools either.

Is your glass half empty or half full?

Just don't worry about it. What's in walking distance?

I know parents with kids at Parkside, Veritas & St. John's and all the kids seem happy.

With in year transfers it's also going to depend on who has spaces.

If I recall from my time as a school governor then an outstanding or good ofsted report means no one inspects you for at least 3 years.

Hi
My grandson is in the 1st year at Barnfields. He loves it the teachers and the classroom assistants. He has progressed well in all areas. The school motto is believe and achieve and the atmosphere created in class is certainly helping my grandson do this. Its a few years ago now but we looked at Oakridge for our daughters but felt they were very league table focused and pushed their pupils hard.
We ended up sending them to Leasowes where they did very well.
