We drew at the weekend and moved into a play off spot. Next Saturday we take the short trip to our neighbours and league leaders, Newcastle Town. Fans will make the trip by car, train and taxi or the old faithful 101 bus as it is that close!
There's loads of stuff going on with a huge fun day planned at the end of the season and a Dean Saunders Sportsmans' evening on 20th March. The community is again involved and we are heading forward. This was part of the reason this whole thread was started - to inform and involve.

Crikey, it's been a while!
We seem to be still doing very well. Still chasing a play off spot and still in the Staffordshire Senior Cup, with the Semi Final at Marston Road on 17th March and a chance of a cup final outing at Vale Park. There are still tickets available for the sportsman's evening with Dean Saunders on 20th March and we have just confirmed the booking of the Xander Brothers on Friday 27th March - a band that have sold out the White Eagle Club a few times and are coming back to Rangers Social for the second time. £6 advanced tickets from the bar, or £7 on the door.

A great weekend. Friday night saw a full room in the club as Dean Saunders entertained us with some stories from his career and comedian Martin Gold had us in tears of laughter!
Saturday saw us travel to "the oldest football club in the world" and come away with a fantastic 3-0 win even after playing with ten men for 50 minutes. The keeps us in touch with the play off places, even after going 4 league games without scoring! We also won through to the Staffs Senior Cup Final on 20th April at Vale Park so things are ticking over nicely thank you!

Yes indeed and I am rather slack for not updating!
On Monday we achieved a rather decent victory at Vale Park, defeating league rivals Leek Town in the Staffs Senior Cup Final. Dan Cope scoring the only goal of the game in the 93rd minute with the game destined for extra time. Hysteria ensued with the majority of the 784 crowd "taking the roof off"!
The season has now come to a head and with us winning 4 league games on the bounce we go into this Saturday's home game against Gresley where 2 teams from 4 go for the remaining playoff place. The highest league crowd of the season is expected so early arrival is encouraged for all to boost the gate and back the team. Ironically a could we n and line up another tie with Leek in the playoff semi final so there's lots to keep us interested!
Following the game will be the Player of the year awards in the social from around 6.30 with a buffet and entertainment.

On Sunday there is a big fun day with 14 live music acts, sideshows, stalls and trade stalls in the club and outside. Another big turnout is anticipated as this has been pushed in local press and social networking. £4 entry for adults and free entry for kids ensures a busy and eventful fund raiser. From 2pm til 10pm. Come on down!

Was there for the final, will be at the season finale later, & celebration tonight. Also at ' 'Party on the Pitch' family fun day! Tomorrow. Some folks I know coming to the latter with families for entertainment & music, no interest in football, just good, cheap, afternoon!

Finishing off the season with a win due to an injury time winner from captain and local lad Christian Dacres, we lost out on the playoffs due to goal difference and finished sixth. Such a painful margin but a great season and so many positives.

With the football over we now hope to get hundreds through the doors for our fun day today.

Lots for everyone, decent priced drinks and weather is decent at the moment.

Things are moving on on a number of fronts at the club after the end of season celebrations and party on the pitch etc.
The shed end project has gathered pace after having the large steel cover from the Freedom Caravans/New Aldi site donated to the project, very kindly by Aldi. Last week Graham Mitchell and Alan Gee were on the Sports Sandwich on Stafford FM to provide an update on this situation and this Tuesday (2nd) Alan is due on Radio Stoke between 6-7pm to provide another general update on things going on.
The club have had a grant from the FA to help re-lay the pitch and Chairman John Bromley has paid the other half of the cost. If all goes well we could well have a new stand built as well as a new pitch by maybe September. Pitch work starts on 6th June.

All this going on shows how far you can move in 12 months. A year ago people talked about going out of business. This Summer people will be surprised if we aren't one of the shorter odds favourites for promotion!

This thread was started off with "New start and the way forward".
A year on and the massive amount of work that has gone in has to be seen to be believed. A Summer that has seen the pitch re-laid, social club renovation with an additional sponsors lounge in the old snooker room, more tidying up and re-decoration and the plans for the shed end moving forward. Lots of reasons for the stay away fans to come back and give the team a watch, look around the club, visit Fatsos and admire a playing surface that will no doubt produce better quality entertainment.

The season starts with an away game at Daventry Town but we follow that up with home games against Romulus on Tuesday (7.45) and Lincoln United on Saturday 22nd (3pm). Quite a number of old faces have started to com back and watch. Give it a go, you might like it! ;)
