Not a shop, but on my drive to work last night, I noticed fencing had gone up around the Elim Hope Church up Sash Street.

Demolition of the former Co-op building in Stafford given approval
Members of the planning committee met yesterday (Wed 4th September) to discuss several planning applications, including the demolition of the former co-op store.
After around 30 minutes of discussions, the planning team given prior approval for the demolition of the building. The front facing facade on Gaolgate Street will remain.
It is believed that internal demolition will begin within the next 1-2 months with full demolition due to take 18 months.

I know it's not your article. However, just i wanted to correct an error in the article.

Because the planning application went to the planning committee it would have been councillors that sit on the committee that have granted prior approval for the demolition of the building - not the planning department.

When a planning application goes to committee, the councillors have the final say not the planning department - they merely make recommendations which the committee can choose to accept or ignore.

The Milk Stop on Mill Street has closed down.

The one in Newport was also going to close, but they changed their mind after receiving loads of messages.
