Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Did anyone see what looked like a tonne of bar/restaurant furniture all laid out alongside the job centre towards Staffordshire place on Friday? Didn’t clock if it was still there today. Couldn’t work out if someone had been turfed out of a building or was moving in.

Was at the Caravan Storage place located at the rear of the former Harveys Autos/County Autos place on Moss Pit. There were visitors in the garage premises but it seemed to be one of the former employees with a spare set of keys as I recognised him.

Special Planning Committee to meet on Tues 15th October to discuss Guildhall demolition
Due to the large scale major application, a special planning committee meeting has been arranged for next week which seeks approval to demolish the Guildhall, St Johns Indoor Market and multi-storey car park.
The application site covers an area of 1.26ha.
The Wesleyan Chapel clock tower, Market Square façade and several shops up to The Fragrance Shop are not included in the demolition application and would be kept alongside the historic St Johns Market entrances.
The buildings fronting Crabbery Street and St Marys Grove do not form part of the application site and are also to be kept.
The demolition programme is expected to last for 7-8 months. A further planning application is expected to be submitted in the next 12 months.
Further mitigation is also proposed to protect historic buildings (5 St Marys Grove, 18 Market Square, Former Noah’s Ark inn, Wesleyan Chapel Tower) attached to those to be demolished. The buildings would be protected and supported by scaffolding and sections close to these buildings would be demolished by hand.
