Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Just heard today that the TK Maxx in Stafford is closing down and moving into what is currently Home Sense at Queens.

So it looks like Home Sense is going which is a shame, I much prefer the choice of home stuff than the clothes.
Home Sense and TK Maxx are part of the same company. They may just be rebranding the store and merging together. Don't TK Maxx sell Home Sense?

The home section in TK Maxx is essentially a smaller version of HomeSense. This will mean less choice in the home section after the merging of the two stores as it seems to me that the Queens store is the smaller of the two.

I am guessing that the lease is up on the old FH Burgess site so they are taking the opportunity to move into a retail park with much better footfall.

Yeah that’s pretty disappointing, TK needs a tonne of space for their business models due to having so much variety of stock. This is just going to make both stores worse…

TK Maxx clothing sales model = if you pile shit high enough and price it cheap enough, people will buy.

Hate tk max ...it's like the worst jumble sale ever..home sense is no better, full of things you could buy on Temu for pennies, but in a hugely inflated price

TK and HomeSense do often stock known brands mostly. The stuff you’ll buy on Temu is not going to be remotely the same quality (if it’s even the same as the photo at all)

Definitely a bad idea. I like popping into TK Maxx too , but hardly ever go Home Sense.

You must have had some bad experience's... Each to their own, I suppose if you want a full size diamante leopard, then home sense is the place to go.

HomeSense is more difficult to get to than TKMaxx tbh , and it'll end up having a fraction of each.

Although I guess the lines between the two are blurred these days and they're looking at ways to cut costs as is every retailer. Merging their estate, especially with the advent on online click n collect is probably an easy first step for the business to save money , shame for the staff though.

The one in Cannock has the homesense stuff upstairs and clothes downstairs and is a similar size to Queens so that might be what happens.

I assume that whoever was building the row of houses on the stone road by co-operative street has gone bust. They seem to to have been half finished for ages.
