Ah man, I didn’t even know they existed… I love a good patisserie

I hope once the guildhall and coop renovations are done, we’ll be able to have more businesses like that, as there will be more retail and hospitality units available in higher foot traffic areas… hopefully with some support for new tenants.

Off the beaten track, as they say.

I guess the question is how do businesses best advertise themselves? Theres so many people who say they've never heard of them yet share on Facebook regularly

I didn’t know they were there either but I’m not on Facebook.

I walk past the Colunnade regularly either on my way to the theatre or the hairdresser and still had no idea of their existence.
It’s always a shame to hear of a business closing though.

So, I'm in the opposite position - I knew they existed, I've looked at pictures of their delicious cakes, I've heard countless recommendations from trusted friends on the quality and tastyness of the cakes, I knew where they were because I frequent the shop opposite but I've never brought cake from them.

I just don't tend to buy cake to take home or if I'm in town on my own it's really early in the morning or after shops have closed or I'm with my son and I try and limit the amount of shops we need to go into for my own sanity and his.

In the nicest way possible…

By not being down basically a corridor very few tread, to be honest. Basically the only people that would have known it exists are those that frequent Goblinz as there’s not much down there (or I’m not aware of much down there). While I do partake in TTRPGs, Goblinz isn’t a place I frequent as I’m not a DM.

Listing on the gig economy delivery apps might have helped if they were willing to offer deliveries (increased pricing offsets the cost involved with that, providing they can trust the drivers not to ruin the cakes while transporting them), but really it is a foot traffic thing.

The problem with sharing on FB is who sees it is out of your control pretty much, especially while there are certain things happening in the world that lead to increased paid for posts being pushed over that of your own friends.

Plus they're kind of an impulse buy I'd say? For that you need a well seen shop window.

I've only been down the alley once in 30years and that was recently out of curiosity as I was going past. Always thought 2fat goblins was a shop for overweight people clothes. :)

Has the Mercedes garage by the station lost their franchise?, there's no mention of them when looking at cars on the mercedes website.
