Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Rugeley most certainly is not doing better, it's dreadful. Cannock is stagnating in the town centre, sadly and Burton, I never go to because, well, it's Burton.

Newport and Lichfield are doing considerably better. The average domestic income will be a lot higher as well, I'd imagine. There also seems to be some imagination from those with influence on display with regard to bringing the punters in.
I had cause to go to Uttoxeter the other day, a town that I have never parted with any of my own money in*. It seems much busier than it used to be when it was a sleepy, out-of-the-way place that you went through to go somewhere else.

*I did get petrol a couple of times in the 1970s, when there was still a garage near the Abbots Bromley turn-off.

Like a football stadium, he now bought the naming rights.
Welcome to the Kyoto49 Market.

Nope!

Bought a lovely ring from Granny's attic. It's my favourite place to buy unusual Gold jewellery! In the summer I bought a fabulous antique pendant, really unusual jewish piece, and this weekend a lovely gold, white gold and diamond ring!

if youre in the market (so to speak) for something gold and a bit different I highly recommend it! Not a large stock, but some nice antique pieces.

I know technically not in the town centre itself, but this has filled the last available unit on that bit near the coach and horses.

So he did. He actually used the word "Riverside" as well.
Even so, dozy me was thinking of the Guildhall.

Doh!

Why there isn't a specific Riverside thread is beyond me - maybe @Admin could look at stuff - possibly a specific 'Shopping' Sub forum like the Pubs & Eating out one. There could be ongoing threads for the Guild Hall, Markets, Riverside etc

I'm not surprised zizzis have chosen the unit they have because it has views over the river and immediately opposite m&s. However, I was expecting / hoping that all the restaurants would be located on the opposite side of the river with shops on the opposing side.
