Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Saw this notice in the Guildhall gallery in Mill St today.

Looked like they had plenty of things in the shop but didn't go in to see what there was.

It would be interesting to know who made the banner.

It does seem to have survived quite well for a whole decade of exposure.

There are similarly long-lived yellow signs advertising hay (I think) on phone poles around Great Bridgeford that could have been there for twenty years, utterly unscathed by time and weather.

Stafford does have a penchant for heritage installations.

The scaffolding that was on Co-operative Street for decades..
The 32p a gallon petrol pumps on Lichfield Road.
The Wolverhampton Road Volvo.
Etc...

A very good point… it’s a print banner so could have been a Print Designs job perhaps?

What's left of the company behind the original Indi bar still actually owns the building , they tried resurrecting the idea a few years ago , under the Unit A branding was meant to be a warehouse style bar after the indi bar collapse, but they didn't want to invest any money into it, just wanted stock, a DJ and a bar, but got refused on the grounds that they'd at least need to get a fire system working, adequate fire / safety lighting, and toilets installed .

The original plans for the venue as indi bar were stunning. It was set to be an 800 capacity venue over the two floors.

The reason they pulled out is, at the time, every other indi bar they owned were open till 4am, Stafford licensing refused to grant them this kind of license, as it within a residential setting, and restricted them to a 1am closing, so they walked away.

I don't understand why they didn't just sell the plot if they've got no intention of opening. (Although I guess the sites probably tripled in value now).

I guess, if the company has ceased trading it's probably lost in the system of assets.

The counter upstairs in HSBC closes on Friday. Rest remains open but presumably without any counter service.
