Not been to that many but yeah, seems the norm. In Riga they build large wooden decks outside many places in the summer, and dismantle again in winter.

Having time on our own. Lads were at a party We went early doors for the first time in over 10 years Shrewsbury arms shut till 7 very disappointed off to the Rose told us one drink and had to be out by 6pm as tickets only!
Vine hotel was dead. Hogarths walked in to be told "we closing at 6 so we can prepare for the night" . Ended up having 2 in Butlers which wasn't as busy as usual met some friends who were locals in other pubs we go to who have started using the butlers as the old haunts is charging £4.60 a pint. then trotted home. I fear more pubs will close.. Will never go out on new year's again.. My bad

It was provided from a reliable source in the industry but I've not seen anything official.
Talking to the staff at Number 3 Becks may continue running the place with a change in the food offerings to try to attract new custom.
I was in town today before driving to Manchester and thought I would give them some custom and have brunch there. Doors locked at 11.30 despite the signs saying open from 10.00.

We were in town before Christmas. SBC had done their upmost to hide no.3 behind a crap haunted house which was not operating.
Despite the councils best efforts, we thought we would give no.3 a try for a coffee
Service was slow, unorganised and devoid of any Christmas cheer or any sign of a smile,
Door to the kitchen was propped open so the whole place smelt strongly of cooking.
Coffee was decent enough, but Mrs Goat did not appreciate smelling like a 1970's transport cafe.
Unfortunately it is highly unlikely we will revisit.
