Worrying news , seems like Freedom Leisure, who run the leisure centre and the gatehouse aren't happy with the contracts they signed to run them on behalf of the council and are being crippled by costs. The council's giving them a helping hand atm, but how long till they return them both to the council ?

I hope there's a good plan b.

So the borough council gets a private company to run its services as they can do it cheaper.

But they can't

So they beg for more money

The council then cack themselves at the thought of getting it all back on their lap so they cave in and bung them more cash.

Short term gain.... Capitalism 101.

When I booked swimming for this week I was surprised to see it had only gone up 60p. I can't imagine what the running costs are.

Horrible to see that German showroom kitchen place at the bottom of town near Oxfam has already had its windows smashed.

What is with d*ckheads smashing all the towns windows in. Heavier fines need to be given.

Is it on a direct line between the Butler's Bell End and the benefits office?

Neo liberalism in a nutshell. Contracting services out is all a big con. Its either a shite service or the workers get screwed, usually both.

Sport should be free, paid for by the government. The reduction in anti social behaviour, and reduction in the cost of ill health to the NHS would more than cover the cost.
