Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Unless it’s massively changed since I was last in the Market Square I don’t see how it’s going to turn into that by the end of the year

A real improvement to the square would be banning that con artist in a van charging £5 for an ice cream when Tony’s is half that.

Planning permission in to turn the old M&S store into apartments, retaining a small retail store on the ground floor at the front.

The council were saying they intended to move the market there and so clearly plans have changed.

My bets still on the front section of the Guildhall being turned into the indoor market and the extension being knocked down

Can I reserve the ladies underwear apartment.

If not then I will settle for Fruit and veg.

These are no ordinary apartments, they are ......................

The Council have another 50+ years on the market lease and pay only a peppercorn rent a year. They are in no rush to leave unless compensated by the new Guildhall Owners. This doesn't help the current traders in the market as it's more isolated than ever now the Guildhall have blocked off the middle access route. Even though the market and its provision is part of the Borough Charter I feel there is no appetite to support or keep such a provision by our Council.

Of course as a professional and amateur radio man I disapprove of CB (even though I have used it.) :P

However you can take that with a pinch of 10-26.

I started off with CB, then everyone in our group decided we would do amateur radio, so we brought in our own lecturer, passed the City & Guilds, to get our licence. A few of us then went on to do morse and that got me my 'A' licence. Sadly, having got the licence I have never got round to using it.

Kitsch collars. His ID collar (not shown) is one which has Dr Who related symbols on it (tardis, daleks etc). They do some interesting designs.

I noticed some vehicles in the workshop/garage there and a WR Davies Nissan car outside, maybe they're using it temporarily?

Still think it would make a brilliant Tesco express :)
I can't see this being followed up on but it's being turned into a Staffordshire Honda bike workshop...

Are you sure that is in Stafford? On their Facebook page it says it's in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Third paragraph down.

It's a shame it isn't in Walton although I doubt the residents there would like a load of bikers in the area.

My guess is that the old garage will be knocked down and it'll become housing,.
