Are you saying that the likes of Aldi, B&M, Sainsburys, Sports Direct, Superdrug, Waterstones etc etc are outnumbered 2 to 1 by massage places in the town. That does not seem right.

All of which exist purely because it's what staffordians use most, so we have ourselves to blame.

Sorry, it was not meant to be an accurate review.

Best to contact the council and ask for the department that deals with the ratio of Rub and Tug to Supermarkets in this town.

You'd be surprised what goes on behind closed doors in private dwellings.
Before I moved here, I lived in a shared house on the Marston Rd. (The same house/bedroom where that young lad was found dead)
Anyhows, 1 of the 'girls' there was, allegedly, a good time girl, on a part time basis. She had a day job as well. She had allegedly been banned from Grapes, Coach & Horses amongst others for soliciting.
She'd go out most nights dressed to the nines, then at 2am come back with a bloke in tow. 6am, he'd be ceremoniously kicked out. A lot of 'allegations' that I have no way of proving now.

The old bright house is being worked on and "market size" boxes have been outlined on the floor , I'm wondering if the council's brought it and are moving the market there ?

TKMaxx are downsizing slightly, the corner bit of the store is set to be divided up and a new set of doors installed to form a smaller unit.

Enjoying a drop of red.
£950,000 whoever buys that site will end up spending a whole lot more rebuilding/restoring
For that sort of money you're basically buying the land. Nobody will be signing on the dotted line unless they know they will get planning permission to demolish and put up a new mixed use development.

It's a large site with lots of potential. Hopefully it won't attract the sort of tossers as owners that the Guildhall has.

Just under £1m for that much land in the middle of a town centre is quite cheap I would have thought.

Probably £250-£300k to demolish the entire building.

If the council had bought this instead of redoing the paving slabs in Market Square, they could have provided a green space in the middle of the town centre for perhaps £2-£2.5m - potentially leading to further investment in the shops overlooking the new park.

I thought there was money ring fenced for the town centre too , I hope they haven't wasted 15 million on the square. That's ridiculous.

The £14million that is now worth £11million via inflation you mean?

The cannot disclose negotiations on the Guildhall because there are none you mean?

Or do you mean the prettying of useless buildings in Tipping Street and Martin Street, now to be known as Eastgate?

Perhaps the paying of the bill to demolish the 1980s Magistrates Court?

The market square will seem an absolute bargain when compared to the above

One of the guys came out whilst I was looking at the delicacies on offer and said they would be open in about three weeks when I asked him.
When is the Munch and the Slurp launching? It's well past 3 weeks now and the shop has joined the current Stafford craze down that end of town of almost opening, but then whitewashing the windows and nothing else happens (visibly anyway).
