Cinnamon - spice obtained from the inner bark of several tree species from the genus Cinnamomum. What exactly is this Cinnamon that folk are getting so excited about?
The menu in the window offers breakfast from 08:30 but they're currently closed.Tomo's burgers is opening in the old wimpy / bap shop opposite sports direct.
I also wouldn't fill up on the motorway, I'm a skinflint!
Was just surprised at the cost, morrisons is 30p I didn't realise they varied so much.
Happy to report the chargers are getting some use, especially late at night,. There always seems to be a car plugged in when I take the dog for the late night walk. It would be good to think that there would be some joined up thinking so users are able to stay charging for more than 2 hours and not get scammed by the car park operator but i bet that isn't in place...
Work being done to the old Adams shop on Crabbery Street.
A lorryload of bricks was removed today.I asked the workmen if someone was opening the unit as a shop and was told it wasn't and they were doing work for new apartments.
Town was mobbed last night, probably helped by Jason Manford doing two shows at the gatehouse. I was doing something else at the gatehouse til half 8, big crowds outside when I left, seemed to be loads of teenagers at the post house (?!), verso busy and liquor tank looked full! Really good to see for a Monday evening.
Not sure if mentioned before , but I saw it for first time today....
New shop 'Mini Market" open next to Subway.
Bridge Street.Greengate subway I assume?

I’ve found a Beatties Store Guide leaflet. It’s not dated but an 01902 ‘phone number puts it after April 1995 and about three dozen departments suggests maybe no later than about 2005. There’s a plan of each of the five floors which looks much as I remember it in the 1960s though I’m not sure if “Casual Dining” is what was the food hall or delicatessen.Loads - I worked in toys, menswear, china & glass, stationary, mother & baby, lighting, sports & the Christmas department in the 3 and a bit years I worked there. That was part of the problem in the end, each department was run like an individual shop with a Manager & Assistant Manager etc., massively overstaffed (which is not a major problem when you are making millions every year). First thing HoF did when they took over was make mass redundancies. Very sad story, the old General Manager committed suicide he was so distraught at having to put so many people on the dole.
I've reordered it a bit, but only a little bit.(3) Ground Floor:- Perfumery, Stationery and Leather Goods...
Not really an error as Beatties attracted 'posh' customers from maybe up to a dozen or so miles away.I take it Beatties has gone now. As kids we used to cycle to Wolverhampton to go in the 'posh' store. Cycling was fairly easy once you got to the dual carriageway as they had a cycle path even back then. Avoiding the trolley bus tracks demanded concentration.
(Yes, I know, it's a grammatical error putting the words 'posh' and 'Wolverhampton' in the same sentence. )
