I've just been searching for something on :google: and somehow came across the term 'Stafford Spin'. The first website which references this is www.soul-source.co.uk, which leads me to think that the origin is the Northern Soul nights which were famously held at Top of the World/Zanzibrawl/Colosseum, amongst other places in the UK (Wigan Casino, the Blackpool Mecca) back in the day. Anyone else heard of this before? There must be a few oldies amongst us who frequented the old 139 when these were on....

Hey boyz, dont knock the groovy rock and roll thang which has been a part of the Fords make-up for ages. IT is the source! Let's go and check it out before we say what we think...

Ain't knockin it Sofa. When i lived in St Albans a few years ago, a lot of the people I used to hang about with were a few years older and were well into their Northern Soul. When they realised I was from Stafford, one of THE places to be for such music, they decided to educate me. It's not generally my kind of music, but I can appreciate its qualities. I'm up for checking it out...in fact i'll even polish my brogues.
