Thanks Gramaisc. Not sure if I can make that, with having my own time off already. Think I'm due back at work but will tell others.

Standing room only, just about got everybody inside for the send-off and then retired to the Morris Man for multiple reminiscing.

Seems the MM is the funeralists favourite venue these days...........
Only my second one in there. The previous was for a chap who had expired in his girlfriend's house in his late eighties...

I spotted John Matthews and the almost inevitable Taffy (Price) recently, and I bumped into Cyril Bird's mate, Ray, who said they are off on a distillery tour next week and so, I presume, Cyril will be maintaining his recent low-profile situation..

Not seen John since he retired and not seen Taff for ages!
Have been back in touch with Bill Tawse family (thats going back a bit), he's now 81.
Was talking ot somebody on the Lichfield Road site the other day and think he said Norman Davies doesn't have long til he retires, as does Mick Hopwood. Tony Styles has about 18 months, Ron Flynn is into his last year having passed the 65 mark and carried on.

m probably telling you what you already know, though.... ;)

JM is OK - had his knees done. Pink Floyd hits The Wall on August 31st. Mick Hopwood is well onto overdrive, surely. I see Taffy most weeks, but normally heavily supervised..

The basic function of supervision is to decide how much to blame you.

I remember spotting Norman at various locations around the town in the company of Les Stevens' secretary. 'Hello', I thought, 'there's something going on here'. Indeed there was - when I started spreading the rumour, I was let into the secret that they had been married for somewhat over a decade. Never occured to me, especially when you consider what else was going on..

I am reliably informed that 'our Ron' is still hale and hearty, although Ada has been a little poorly of late..
