Stafford Borough is proud of the links forged with communities in France, Germany, Poland, Spain and United States. Here is alittle info on the towns in question.

BELFORT, EASTERN FRANCE. A forty minute drive from Germany and even less from Switzerland. during May, the town host to around 1,000musicians from Europe when it stages the Festival International de Music Universitaire-which has featured from Stafford.

DREIEICH, GERMANY. Dreieich was Stafford's first twin town with twinning links dating back to 1981. Although smaller in size and population, Dreieich, meaning three oaks, resembles Stafford Borough in many ways.

LA ROE, FRANCE. Both La Roe and its twin village, Bradley in Stafford, are similar in size. With populations of around 350, both lie in rural areas. Residents of La Roe are very enthusiastic about their links with Bradley, which help to promote culture and tourism, an arrangement which is mutually beneficial.

RIMBACH, GERMANY. In 1995, Rimbach celebrated the 1,200th anniversary of it's charter, which was signed by British monks from the monastery at nearby Lorsch so the twinning links with Colwich and the Haywoods in Stafford is particularly apt.

SKARZYSKO-KAMIENNA, POLAND. Like Stafford, Skarzysko is an important road and rail junction - it is on the main Warsaw - Krakow line. Also like Stafford it was formed by merging several communities. The present name dates back to 1928.

STAFFORD COUNTY, USA. Although covering the same land area as it's namesake Borough in England, Stafford County has no urban centre of population.

TARRAGONA, SPAIN. A magnificent aqueduct, amphitheatre and city walls are among the Roman treasure trove and the city's historic monuments also include the cathedral and mediaeval palaces.
