Hopefully that means I was within the allowed margin then on the 9th , when I encountered a van sitting hiding around the bend in the road .

Been craaaaaawling since :D
They are required to inform you of intended prosecution within fourteen days.

Should it appear later, due to Christmas delays, possibly, try to get 'proof' of the delivery date..

Daft thing is , all the other similar roads are 40 or 50 in the area. This road has no houses or other buildings on either, but a 30. First speed limit sign was the flashing 30 sign as I approached the bend with the van straight after. Sure it's done as a money spinner,...

26mM6 through the roadworks this morning at Stafford a driver has been stopped and reported for eating a yogurt while driving, wasn’t even using a spoon. Not acceptable!

So he's drinking a yogurt. For which he will feel the strong arm of the law.

Of course that's far less safe than someone who's driving whilst smoking or vaping...

I thought you weren't breaking the law if you were in control of the vehicle. You can drink, eat etc. I am sure the AA published an article a few years back.

Found it.

Is it illegal to eat and drive?
No, there's no specific law against eating while driving. You're not going to be immediately pulled over if you’re seen taking a bite out of your breakfast on the way to work - unless that bite stops you paying attention to the task at hand.

Our Populus poll in December 2018 found that 1 in 10 of us eat while we drive. If you do, make sure your eating habits don't distract you behind the wheel. If the police think you aren't in proper control, you can be charged with careless driving. This carries a maximum penalty of £5,000, 3 to 9 points on your licence and a discretionary driving disqualification.

My mate was stopped years ago on the Cannock Rd in Hednesford and given a telling off. The copper following her noticed her feeding her toddler in the passenger a banana and not got her eyes on the road ahead.

Nothing safer than driving along the motorway in a thick cloud of strawberry smoke

I think it's pretty safe to extrapolate from that data that's the threshold is 10% + 2mph..

You take the risk if it isn't
For that staffs total of 286 cameras, the majority of those will be static and I think they are turned off. They deal more in mobile speed cameras these days it would appear...

They certainly aren't turned off on the A34 from Stafford to Stoke or the other way to Bloxwich.

Weren't they all switched off a few years ago when central funding stoped. Now they are mostly active again thanks to speed awareness course participants.
