What is needs is for Hydrant Way to be continued down to St Thomas Lane then an elevated road across the fields & river to join up at the roundabout and then make Baswich Lane between St Thomas Lane & the roundabout bike / resident access only.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
But how far did it sometimes stretch before the temp lights. I've spent many a miserable hour stationary on Baswich Lane in traffic queues over the years.
Lived up there for over 30 years and I have never seen the queues back up to Porlock before. It's consistently back to the shops every day now.
Traffic can be really bad around here especially since Saxonfields and now the two estates next to the Crematorium have been built.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Fair play. I tend to avoid the area (well the whole of Stafford, to be honest) at rush hour times.

When they put that pedestrian/cycle bridge in they missed the chance to do that. Wouldn't have cost all that much more either. Not sure the owner of the house would have approved. Plus there's a public footpath and gate there.

Maybe we could simply cull fuckwit drivers. We could start with the one who went through the railings,

Well, given their car went into the water they probably nearly did that to themselves. I'm guessing they did get out or else it would have been in the news.

Any other Stafford roads to avoid today to get from J14 - Astonfields- Hough Travel lodge around school kicking out time onwards ?

Unfortunately got to go to the office over that side of town first before settling in for our night out.

All of them.
I did think that as I was posting 😂

Makes a difference from around this area of Worcester that I'm now living. I'm having to keep watching my speedo on fast free flowing roads ,with loads of speed vans cleverly positioned daily , because it's too tempting to stick your foot down. (and mostly pot-hole free )

Decided to come straight to the Travel lodge instead, and save traffic across town until tomorrow.
First we came to a stop all the way , was Silkmore Lane . Big line of traffic for temporary lights , but only lights & light operators vans in view!

The logical thing, rather than moan about it, would be to move somewhere better.

Kinda settled here now. But the problem is how the towns road network is bad and yet since I've moved here there's been about 6 or so new estates added and practically nothing has been done to the roads. The South East of the town has had no road improvements at all.

It used to be a good town but has been destroyed by bad planning and by turning the town into a commuter town.

There is no excuse for the decades of incompetence that have resulted in the roads we have today, that's for sure.

I can always remember my Old Man telling me: "You can always tell when the Tories have been in power for a number of years. The roads turn to shit."
I wonder what the roads are like on the Cayman Islands... !!

(I had a look on Google Earth street view, I might have found where the bloody money has gone ...)

:urgh:
