The logical thing, rather than moan about it, would be to move somewhere better.
This is a very simplistic view. People have work commitments, family commitments, they own houses in Stafford. Moving somewhere else isn't always an available solution.

It's not moaning anyways, it's an intolerance of how shit Stafford is and how it doesn't need to be so. It's poorly governed and planned. That's the frustration, all so preventable. And still the council plow on with crackpot schemes that add nothing to the town.... Stafford Station Gateway plan is exhibit A in my argument. New shops in a town of empty shops and shopping centres, new houses in a town with thousands just being built, and a car park, wiping out a maturing rewilded area populated by community projects.

Blackheath Lane:
Daftest thing is that just a few hundred yards up from the bend(s) there’s a speed de-restriction sign !!! Surely it should be removed and replaced with a “WARNING NARROW BRIDGE / TIGHT BENDS” sign ? Not to mention people creeping out of St. Thomas’ Lane from the right.

Yep. They need to either stop building so many houses or improve the roads massively. You can't build loads of new homes and then do nothing about the roads. This is not a big city, there's an expectation that people will drive cars. The buses are unreliable and non-existent for some places. None at all on Sundays in some areas. There's no decent cycling infrastructure or secure storage either.

Apparently there's something happening next week that's going to affect the Newport Road/Bridge Street junction with temp lights plus it looks like all the exits/entries to the Island Roundabout with temp lights as well. Anyone have any idea what is actually happening as it doesn't really make much sense to my tiny mind.

I stopped considering that stretch to be a 'road' some years ago.

According to the roadworks site it's refurbishment/update of the lights
No mention of resurfacing the ploughed field road surface then or at the very least putting the lane marking in because the existing ones are barely visible.

Have to agree & all I was doing was “quoting” what pretentious said (opps I mean proactive) from the previous page.
The irony is that the idiot actually liked your comment. :hmm:

If you had the slightest bit of intelligent you'd realise why I did. But as you have none then it's hardly surprising you have no idea, arsehole.

Isn't something meant to be happening to Chell Road soon? I seem to remember reading somewhere, that once the new road over the way from here was done, Chell Road was going to be dug up.

Last time I drove down Chell Road it felt like it had already been dug up.

Yes you are right, that was the plan. Maybe the money has run out.

Thers nothing showing on the roadworks site looking forward several months

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Pretty sure that Chell Road had to go to ‘consultation’, then they would need to secure the funding and then wait a few years before deciding to actually start work on it.

I noticed the path through the estate on the old police HQ site is finally finished. You can now walk from Weeping Cross through the estate to A34 Cannock Road. Handy for walking from Wildwood area to the Weeping Cross shops, Bod etc..

I'm glad you posted that @gilesjuk . We'd been thinking it was close to finishing as we had our walks before leaving 12 weeks ago , and would have liked to have seen it all opened up.
Shame it didn't open up before we left.

Have they finished all the final houses yet?

Used to occassonally dare to take an unofficial short cut through years ago when the old HQ was there.... (checking the police dogs weren't out doing training first , didn't want to be the easier option than the man with the padded arm..... 😂)
