Enjoying a drop of red.
The condition retinitis pigmentosa proves this as the cones die out leaving the person with gradually narrower vision due to the peripheral vision having less cones.
You have to notify DVLA of that condition and if it's severe then you can't drive.

I was using that eye condition of an example of how the eye works. I have knowledge of it because I have a friend with the condition and I also used to work with someone with that condition too. I also have experience of studying HCI and UX where you learn about how people interact with computers, user interfaces and in some cases record eye movements to build up a map of how much people move their eyes around an application during use.

Fact remains, when driving you have to scan around a lot with your eyes and your peripheral vision is not as good. Someone wearing high viz can help of course.

My eyesight is perfect and my driver history is too, no accidents, claims or otherwise since 1992.

M^remains closed, South from J15/Stoke-on-Trent to J14/Stafford. This is due to a car transporter catching fire.
All Southbound traffic being taken off at J15 - diverted onto the A500, A34 South to Stafford, then back on at J14.
Northbound has delays

There is a serious house fire on First Avenue, Holmcroft, Stafford with multiple fire engines in attendence. Please avoid the area as the road is closed in the region between Woodlands Road and Sayers Road. It is believed the residents were not at home, but this is awaiting confirmation at this time, so hoping everyone is safe. Please avoid the area if you can.

Looks like the traffic lights at Kingsmead have failed causing a bit of chaos.

I've just been stuck in traffic by the Falklands roundabout for 20 minutes. Mainly due to folks in cars blocking the road, Oooh the lights have changed, let's move, even though there's nowhere for us to go!!!
Finally moved, due to one group having the common sense to stay put when the lights turned to red.

Not exactly traffic, but, the council have installed new payment machines at Sainsburys, you can pay by cash or card*, but WAIT** for your second ticket, or you can't claim parking back in sainsburys....

*the machine by the chinese takeaway only takes card it seems

**Lots of people aren't waiting for the second ticket so can't claim their parking back.

Please dont gave a go at sainsburys staff, it's not our car park, it's the councils car park, the council changed the parking without telling us yesterday, customers have had to inform us of the changes. If you don't have the 2nd ticket there's nothing we can do, please contact the council!

Good news for those of us that don't use cash. Bit about waiting for second ticket noted. Cheers.

Doesn't one use the second ticket left by the previous user of the machine and then leave one's own second ticket for the next user ?

Weston Road closed both ways at Within Lane junction due to 3 car RTC. Multiple police & ambulances in attendance.
Diversion via Within Lane & Sandon Road etc.
might be clear by now but it did look like it would take a while to clear
P. S. No special tinopeners visible when I passed.

Yeah I discovered they’d finally change it yesterday, with an unnecessarily complicated machine that people seemed to struggle to use.

And yeah… it takes a good 5-10 seconds to spit out the voucher, so most people miss it. I assume this is deliberate as I imagine Sainsbury’s get the money back from the council…?

I'd imagine it's more likely Sainsbury's subsidise the parking in order to get some customers.

Ys, saisburys claim the parking back off the council...1.10 for an hour, or 1.70 for 2 hrs
So it’s in the council’s best interest for people not to claim their receipt.

How convenient, I wonder if it was a selling point.
