I guess many will have detoured already to avoid the potholes on crooked bridge road, and I guess quite a few are trying to use the lidl bypass? The congestion along Browning Street in rush hour is particularly troublesome recently since the new bypass around the back of Lidl opened. Traffic blocks the junction next to "Forgate Street Mini Market" so vehicles cannot exit. It backs up all along Sandon Road so vehicles can't enter/exit the mini roundabout. Not sure why more cars don't turn left to go alongside the jail and round the roundabout past Sainsbury's that way instead, it'll be much quicker. Obviously the lights at Halfords and Browning Street and road set up aren't optimised at all. Sandon Road near the old Stafford Cinema used to be free of holdups in the morning, not any more.
They were digging it up yesterday and also a week or so ago. They are really dragging it on with goal square. I can't see anything new in the last 2 weeks, and the coned off inside lane is just used for their parking.
What would we do without good old Alliance Street - it’s our ‘Route 66’A34 stone road closed at the common southbound. The diversion is via alliance st. and Eccleshall road.
Just been talking to the youngest about this. There's approximately 700 people work at the Pets warehouse. 300 are on the night shift. Pets have sent an email out to all employees about the postponement. Out of those 300 employees, 175 have bothered to read their email.Staffordshire County Council
Overnight closures planned on the A34 Stone Road Stafford north of the Redhill roundabout this week for resurfacing have now been postponed until spring next year because of the wet weather.
We'll keep people informed of new dates closer to the time.

seen you on NW, I'm the radio station LW rememberedI was surprised an A road would be diverted down that type of street tbh.
That's very true, but from what TGUJLTFTBB reckoned, majority would have been in work last few nights, so would have had chance have a nose.I can’t speak for all but a lot of the PaH SDC colleagues don’t have laptops and the means to check emails out of work hours, unless they choose to do so. When they are actually in work they will see email and comms regarding the road closures.
