Hiya
Can you pop a notice on regarding the station roadworks?
I work at the station
The current parking situation is 20min free in the multistorey for short stay.
Drop off zone is now past the bus stop on the left behind the taxi rank (opposite the mercedes garage) this is NO parking, just drop off/pick up.
The old short stay is closed and the access road is for MULTI STOREY ONLY (or hgv deliveries)
This is all sign posted but people arent reading/understanding and its creating chaos with people attempting to back out/do 3 point turns to get back out of the access road

Or just park at the Mercedes sales room and kick a few tyres until your ride arrives

( Tactical? Hahahaha )

The end date for the Beaconside roadworks by Marston Grange has been revised... now Autumn 2025.

Explain the economic model that only places 11 workers on site at any one time

If the job provided for 55 workmen at any one time the job would be finished

The job has been priced and approved

But no bonus for early finish and no demand for a higher ratio and swifter conclusion

11x 431 days v 55 x 278 days

It was Spring 2025, then Summer 2025 and of course, it’s now Autumn 2025.

Anyone taking bets on it being revised to Spring 2026?

Nice to see they’re using the new style of temporary signage around town now, instead of those old metal things that fall into the road constantly

Because of the structure and placement of wording it has multiple meanings

Rather like doing a mathematical puzzle with brackets, there is an order to things

The initial instructions exclude all drivers not disable badge holders

The remaining instructions are just rubbish

Or it could be
Disabled badge holders only, no one else at all.
Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm no limit.
Any other time upto 3 hours only
Yes, although "Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm" being the busier times of the week should be more likely to have a three hour limit.

Ah ok that seems to make sense thanks.

So is the disabled parking unlimited then?
To answer my own question, I've just seen a car with a ticket.

They had a valid blue badge and the clock wheel was set at 8 so I assume the 3 hour limit applies to everyone outside of Mob to Fri 0800 to 18.00.
