I know its been mentioned elsewhere, but I thought it should have a thread of its own.

Tonight is the last Walking Street of the year and it looks like the weather will improve from around 4pm.

Not quite sure how the pub scavenger hunt will work because I have been told that it includes Redrum but I don't think they open today or if they do everyone else from the Walking Street will probably have already left.

Hopefully the rain will clear for the event as well.

Redrum says - Remember it's the Stafford Walking Street scavenger hunt this evening. We will be open from 6 pm until midnight and we've got some great acoustic acts in the bar for your enjoyment and free pool all night.

Remember to pick up a scavenger hunt card from the Stafford FM stage and grab a drink in Redrum to be able to complete your card.

Ah ok I stand corrected. It's good to see the Walking Street extending out more from the Market Square.

Hopefully it will continue next year and extend to the majority of the town centre, wherever that is nowadays.

We did the scavenger hunt and it was excellent. There were 6 of us 2 of whom had never visited a number of the pubs on the list despite being from Stafford.

Bet they didn't make much money this time round...... also people just walking through town got asked for I.D nothing to do with "walking street" but because they was walking through town, they needed to give name and number.

I don't really find this acceptable, town was here before "walking street"

People don't need to be hounded even more, way to put people off even more so.

It's sad but it shouldn't go ahead for a while, they won't get the same custom at the moment and the rest that goes with it, otherwise it'll stop for good because stallholders won't see the point

They managed to film staff and public breaking those rules and then posted the videos on their Facebook page.

We visited the Walking Street last night mainly to pick up some food. Daughter wanted some fish and chips so ordered something from the "Cod of Duty" stall. Whilst daughter was happy with her cod bites I was little disappointed with the cod and chips. Got the distinct feeling it had been sat there a while rather than being cooked to order.
Very much regret not going to the hot dog stall which we had eaten from before when they visited Candid last year....

Shame the weather was a little bit on the chilly aside.

Pleased to see more stalls than the last time we went in July? at the Walking Street last night.

I had the beef massaman from the Thai food stall and it was delicious.

Good to see the event was well attended and we enjoyed the band too.

Ended up at the Walking Street last night (well the outside tables at No.3 really).

Seemed to be well attended but it was disappointing to see the jobsworth security stopping a homeless guy, who was having a good old dance along, from entering the square.

I've seen the guy around town a few times and whilst he likes his drink I've never seen him cause any trouble.

When I questioned the security staff about why they were stopping him they explained he had got into a fight with another homeless guy at a previous event.

Surely this event should be open to all and security should only intervene if you cause any trouble at the time not hold grudges for past misdemeanors.

When we questioned why he wasn't allowed to walk into a public area we were told that it was a licensed event and therefore they could stop whoever they didn't like. Can this be correct?

Walking street "rent" part of the square so they can/must have security within the defined area, conditions within the licensing arrangement perhaps.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Tut tut, you know better than that.

Can't have those in unfortunate circumstances enjoying themselves. It offends those who think of themselves as middle class.
