WARNING - Thread may contain spoilers...

Read at own peril etc etc

So, who's seen it?

Strange film in some ways - enjoyable in parts, odd in others.

Don't know quite what to make of it, would be interested to hear the thoughts of other Members?

I enjoyed it, it certainly had some odd bits but then they always did. OMG though...milk.....:barf:

That was certainly one of the more odder moments.

Or perhaps udder moments.

I got that bit, though, Luke has essentially gone feral, yes?

Then suddenly there are nuns?

I had a better sentence that assonated & consonated a bit betterly.

'Suddenly' and 'nun' i thought was quite good enough really.

I shall try and plough the ancient Jedi texts in my singing ringing tree to retrieve my better rendering, before...

...Yoda burns it to the ground...

'Punctuated by nuns' - that was the crux of it.

Something based around that. There was something about Luke and his splendid isolation. It was a good sentence, honest.

I suppose you had to be there.

We loved them, poor things. The shit they have to put up with lol. I read an interesting theory about the Porgs and Chewy. They weren't actually saying nooo don't so much as please share lol Half makes sense, have you seen their teeth?

We went to see it on New year's Day.... Enjoyed it but was only afterwards that certain things started to make me think...
  • Leia flying through space...
  • Snoke not noticing the lightsabre turning...
  • How did Rey get back onto the Falcon after the scrap with Kylo Ten ??
Always good to see Ade Edmondson so the big screen....

Utterly, utterly ridiculous.

Given that, at some point, it was/will be necessary to make her dead - because, like, she actually, like, really is dead - that would've been the obvious point to make her die.

To make her survive in such a ridonculous manner was almost unforgiveable.

We all accept that the Force is STRONG with her, but this went far too far.

The Snoke episode i accept in the longer term narrative - ie that Ren, a la Sith lore, has outdone the Master. Though it is entirely unsatisfactory in 'real' terms - there is no intro before the outro.

I'm unsure as to your last uncertainty - seems to me that the entire point of Luke's exertions in the last set-piece was exactly to enable Rey to escape unharmed. It was almost the only actual point of the whole film - Luke sacrificed himself (albeit remotely) so that the 'Rebellion' could climb aboard the Falcon and thus continue.

That the entirety of the remaining cadre of the 'Rebellion' can comfortably fit within the confines of the Millennium Falcon would seem to be a more pressing problem going forward..,.

noooooo....I meant that she was jettisoned out of the Falcon to end up killing snoke with Kylo, it was how she ended back on the Falcon after she parted with Kylo....did she just call Chewie up on 1-800-PORG and get picked up ?

The Falcon closed years ago and the only way to get jettisoned was through a window :)

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
You lot are thinking far too much about it. Star Wars is, and always has been, a kid's film. The fact that adults like it means nothing. Just enjoy it and don't think too deeply about it.

And I say this as someone who has seen every Star Wars film in the cinema on original release.

Ah, right.

I have no answer for that - i'd have to see it again - has anybody gone to see it again?

I'd quite like to see it again.

Whilst i would agree with the sentiment, and in some respects the content, of this, bad story-telling is inexcusable regardless of the audience.

Confused story-telling will only be accepted if the confusion is ultimately resolved.

3 of 3 will have to do much better.
