Great news for tabletop gamers as shop with Dungeons and Dragons opens in North Staffordshire town
The shop is also ideal for lovers of Pokémon and Magic the Gathering
Dan Fitchew of Card Tavern in Stone
A gaming shop shop has launched in Stone selling all things tabletop - including Warhammer, Pokémon, and Dungeons and Dragons.
Card Tavern officially opened in Stone this week (Wednesday, October 19). Owner Dan Fitchew says it has always been his dream to open the store.
The 33-year-old, from Hanley, said: "I grew up around Stone. Gaming has been a hobby I've had since I was a little kid and now I've turned it into a job."
Dan, who previously worked at Hylands Electrical in Stone, sells a range of items for tabletop gamers.
These include Citadel paint, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, miniatures, plus Magic the Gathering and Marvel Champions cards. He also has tables set up for gamers to use, at a charge of £2 per head.

He said: "I worked at Hylands for three years, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to set up in the town.
"I sell a bit of everything like Magic the Gathering and Pokémon - which is my favourite as well as Dungeons and Dragons.
"Stranger Things has given it a massive boost, but there's a lot of people that played it before."
Dan said his shop used to be a clothing store. It has taken him three weeks to get everything ready.
"After university in London, this is something I've always wanted to do. It's been a bit of hard work but after saving it's all worked out."
Dan also stocks a selection of American and Japanese snacks in the shop, including Twizzlers, Gatorade and Chupa-Chups drinks, plus some Pokémon snacks.
And he says, the business is going well so far. "I have had quite a lot of interested people come in with many just popping in to find out about us."
Card Tavern is open 12pm to 8pm in the week, except Tuesdays, and 10am to 6pm on weekends.
