Swimming Pools.

Thanks everyone, I’ve found somewhere.

It’s a small hotel gym I didn’t know was there 10-15 mins from home, work and elsdest daughters new club.

It’s not posh or fancy and I’m a bit disappointed they don’t run classes but the pool is perfect and the gym is perfectly fine. Better yet no joining fee and February was free! Also it’s not widely advertised so it’s very quiet.
If it's the hotel with on the A34 at Stone (Stone House or something like that), I used it for rehab when I was recovering from breaking my hip and I was staying at Barlaston.

Whilst I was more than willing to pay the hotel staff repeatedly told me guests don't need to pay and they were quite insistent that I was a guest. Seemed rude to argue with them 😂

It’s not The Stone House Hotel, it would have been perfect location wise but the ‘gym’ is little more than an exercise bike and a treadmill in the corridor, the whole place looked and smelt like it wanted a good scrub and a lick of paint. Membership prices were the same as the swanky Stoke gym plus £6 a time to bring the smallest one, for what they’re offering in its current state I think even half price would be expensive.

Can someone confirm/advise if you need to book in advance for Family swim slots at Stafford leisure centre??

I believe you have to book in advance for all slots. I've just joined so I can swim in the mornings.

Cheers, I think I'll pop in on my morning walk tomorrow... Still cannot see any sign of Family swim classes on the website to book and even then, when you try and register it asks for a membership number ?!?!

You need to go in to register. I've just looked though and I can only book adult or over 50s (!!) swimming so maybe you don't have to.

The requirement to book online for the Stafford pool has been removed so you can just walk in of the street and use it. Just finished a family swim session and I think there must have only 15-20 others swimming in the pool...

I wonder if that's the case for lane sessions too? If I don't book with in 10 minutes of getting out on a Friday morning I can't get a slot, and it's really full when I'm in there.
