Tech park empty units

There seems to quite a few empty units at the moment.

Perhaps Stafford's awful record of traffic management and roadworks has taken its toll?

The Weston Road near the new school is closing for a week starting 21st August. Which just shows the level of stupidity in Stafford council when it comes to planning.

Why rework the school entrance now? why not do it when you were building the bloomin thing? I'm not even sure what is being done. It mentions a splitter island or something, not another set of traffic lights or pedestrian crossing surely? why do you need another crossing when there's no opposite road, people will either come in from the left or right which are both served with crossings.

It's already got a one-way system in force. So 100 horse boxes will be going down Baswich lane instead? that's nuts.

thing is its people from all over england coming for scope, its huge event. so a lot of people wont know it is closed until they get there, then having to turn horse boxes around be a nightmare, im not happy about it and im not even taking a horse lol

That's true. The sat nav won't alert them unless it's one on their phone.

The roadworks now says installation of a central reservation?

Plus this info:

"Phase 1 new central splitter island across the new access to Veritas school. Signals only during phase 1 work"

"Phase 2 work to install new splitter island opposite the entrance to Veritas school"

What on earth are they doing?

It's a more permanent version of the plastic barricade that's been there for a year or so, I suspect.

Well they seem to be putting some sort of pipe into the ground, which must be a conduit for electric cable? for the "keep left" signs?

... All made worse by building a roundabout for the Beacon estate that was obviously far too small. What happened to all the grant money they saved on that?

They built the island within the constraints of where it is located.

If they are driving over it then the island itself is surely too big not too small?

Maybe a pelican crossing?

Why would one be needed? the entrance to the school halfway down that section of the weston road. There's already two crossings either end of the road which serve it well.

If there was a road opposite then there would be a need for it.

In Ireland, where a roundabout might be a bit tight for large vehicles, there can be an additional inner space available for the rear wheels to run without doing any damage.

As seen here.
