I believe lots of schools are opening an hour later than usual on Monday, in order that the little darlings who've stayed up late to watch footy on Sunday get a lie in on monday.....
There’ll be lots of parents scratching around for an hour’s childcare at short notice.

Not if they work in Lidl - and if England win.

I am surrounded here by red, white and green flags. Although the reason is nothing to do with association football, it is the local sporting colours and Italian (or Hungarian) flags are the easy way to display support.

For some odd reason, the eastern end of the town tends more towards the horizontal tricolour of the Hungarian variety, which, I think, does 'look better'.

There is a meat factory in the town which was largely staffed by Poles and Czechs around 2000, during the Great Opening Up Of The East. One day a Hungarian lorry arrived to be loaded and the driver asked why the town was bedecked in Hungarian flags. He was told that he was the very first Hungarian ever recorded to have arrived in the town and it was all in his honour.

Hope it's not a bad omen .....my big England flag , that's stayed stuck up in the window all the time without falling off, has just fallen off and won't stay stuck back up again ......

Now flying screwed up sideways outside , held on by the shut window

Laughed my head off at the text on Elis and John's show today asking why the "30 years of hurt" sung about in Three Lions '96 starts *immediately* after the 1966 World Cup win.

Just about sums England up that we'd respond to a cup final victory with instant misery! XD

Is a bank holiday with less than 24 hours notice even viable?

Oh yeah just cancel all your meetings tomorrow, whole country has shut down on short notice. Any business owner with something important happening tomorrow would be pretty annoyed I imagine. Even 1 week’s notice doesn’t seem like much to me.
