The Barbershops of Stafford.

I have a haircut every 3 weeks, I have the same haircut in a double zero, essentially as close as you can get without taking a bic to it.
This year my intention is to visit all of the barbers in Stafford, NOT hairdressers. I feel there is a large number of barbers and I am sure they are of varying quality so I have set some criteria and based off that will not so much review, but see what separates the men from the boys.

This weekend I had my first of the year at Scott Paul Barbershop. I am starting at the northernmost and moving south. Scott Paul is located on Parkside. For my haircut it was £10, cash only but there is a post office very close and you can withdraw cash out there. Parking just outside. The barber was incredibly swift, maybe 5 minutes max. No offer to do eyebrows, nose, ears etc. (Which is one of my measures)
That said standard haircut, nice bloke, sports talk, which isn't my thing but it's small talk in the end.
Next haircut is in 3 weeks.

I see Brad and the Jolly Roger is on your list. I believe he's by appointment only so you may need to plan ahead to see if he has gaps

Street View shows what looks like a Barber's shop on Bodmin Avenue, next to the Bod.

There is a blackboard that indicates online booking was necessary there, too, when the picture was taken.
I couldn't locate one up there so will investigate and add it. Thank you.

I have a question @PeterD - places like Eastgate Street barbers have 3 different barbers, 2 ladies who do walk ins and a gent that I think only does appointments. Will this be 3 seperate entries?

I am planning on a single visit to a premises. Ideally walk ins but if I get to a barbers and it's appointment only, I will arrange an appointment and move on to the next one.

I did intend to mark out of 10 but thought it wasn't fair as barber a may be more attentive than a colleague so why penalise a business with an arbitrary figure.

I don't want to come across as I'm being rude @PeterD But how quick does your hair grow to have it cut every 3 weeks?

Haircut day and a visit to a newer place by the Co-op at Holmcroft, Gentleman's Salon is the name given on Google maps but no outside signage and blink and you might miss it if it wasn't for the pole.
It is a new place and therefore it's essentially a chair and mirror. That's fine though, been in worse places.
So pretty good haircut, eyebrows and ears also attended to. Fairly attentive and chatty. Mentioned to him how few barbers there are over this end of town. He said he is looking to introduce the Turkish barber experience with a British twist. Sadly no waxing of the nostrils.
The only negative is the waiting seats were covered in hair. Not good.
Cash only, £10 for the haircut.

There's been a barber next to the co-op, on Holmcroft Rd for years... My male kids are 32 & 30, and we've been using them since they were tiny, the carer still uses them... It's a tiny doorway, in-between the launderette & bookies... It's been there forever though...

I would say the barber in that shop is new, purely based on age and the set up. Not to say there hasn't always been one, more a case of that barber shop.
