We saw a load at 75% off, thought we'd try the vegan bacon out of sheer curiosity. It got binned, wouldn't let the dogs eat that crap, and to think Jamie Oliver has issues with turkey dinosaurs when this shite exists!
Vegan processed food has to be from certain producers to be worth eating imo. Not sure on Aldi as I don't shop there but the premium brands are where I head to, sold by Sainsburys and their ilk. Get what you pay for an all that!

I think most faux meat offerings are crap but the vegan food I was referring contained mostly real veg and wasn't pretending to be any form of meat substitute.

Crap food is crap food, vegan or not. If I do buy substitutes I go for quality. Not a cheap food fan tbh and lucky enough I can be choosy!

Yes! I'm no M & S typical customer but each time I go I'm impressed by the food, they do great vegan naans for example at a good price, you can taste the quality imo, and their clothes always catch my eye even after I've convinced myself I'm not their type of customer. I'm not, I'm not middle class or a Tory voter, but I always see summat the I like!
M&S reductions are way better than Sainsbury's too!

Yeah, that I like. Particularly mushrooms, aubergine, peppers and that sort of thing. I can't stand the fake meat though
Same here, I'd much rather have a veg based meal than something pretending to be meat.

We try to eat veggie/vegan twice a week now, originally it was one meal a week to 'do our bit' now it's twice a week as meat/fish is so expensive!

Is there a way you can switch this out? Prepayment meters make me so angry.

Unless it was forced on the current account holder (ie it wasn’t a previous occupier) the answer is usually yes… even if your landlord claims otherwise.

I'm my own landlord.. ☺️

When we last looked at having it removed, we were quoted about £700!

Same thing happened to me in previous home. … we had to smart pay and go ones. Most annoying thing though is that they don’t actually even need to touch the meter to change it back to a standard pay one ! They can do it remotely , so how they can justify that amount of money is insane

Have gas & electricty prices gone up again this month? Noticed sons Shell Energy unit rates have crept up again on this last months bill, but had nothing to say there was a price increase. :hmm:

( Just so glad we could carry our British Gas Fixed Oct 23 over from the old house! )

Everything is capped right now, so it can rise and fall up to the cap. Special tariffs such as Octopus Tracker have to average out below the cap, that one spent most of January in the twenties…

Our British gas use went up by £30 quid this month, I swear we didn't use more!

January was damn cold, so it would be weird if you didn’t. Our office leccy bill was £60-80 more than usual for January.

Unfortunately because you’re on a prepayment it’s hard to tell. I would get off British Gas (the traditional suppliers are terrible in general) if they’re not moving you off prepayment free of charge to be honest. It’s generally free: https://www.uswitch.com/gas-electricity/guides/prepayment-meter-change-credit-meter/

Were not in a lot, ours is a old fashioned back boiler, it's either on or off, I have it set for 1/2hr at 5am when we get up, and 1/2 hr at 3.30pm ...around when we get home....the radiators don't do that ''constant temperature thing' just on or off if we tell it.

Occasionally we put the heating on for an extra hour ...we do shouldnt have used an extra £30

* Hot water & heating both times

Curious. As far as I know prices should be fixed until like April?
