The Cure

I saw it mentioned on FB but avoided it too.

Couldn't even stand to look at someone just acting as that woman on the box.

Ugh.

Although I was rather hoping this thread was the 'cure' to the vile cold that seems to be doing the rounds.

I have lost all hearing on one ear and had hallucinatory dreams about document filing all night....

I watched it. Don't know enough about the event to know how accurate it was. Pretty grim portrayal of utterly incompetent hospital management but my only experience of that hospital (I've done a fair bit of SGI visiting) was an operation in 1986, well before the time of this drama, and that went pretty well.

Well that brings you in line with about 52% of the people who will nonetheless scream at you that Julie Bailey is an actual Witch who should probably burn in hell or something.

Do not for one moment think that trying to appear non-committal with your 'don't know enough' spiel will spare you from the wrath of the 'Support' mafia.

You are this close to burning with her.

Fun times...

Lot of people have tried to burn me over the years … I'm still here though. Most of them are not. :rimshot:

Julie Bailey brings out fairly extreme views in people even still. For clarity she is a bona fide witch.

All this stuff happened long after I'd left Stafford in 1989. You have to go where the work is and the town was in engineering decline generally at that time. Interestingly I interviewed at that hospital for a job in 1986 as a technician but came second out of five. Maybe I was lucky.:embarrass:

Now what you have to understand is that, such is Julie Bailey's magical power, Stafford's 'general engineering decline' is actually because of her too.

Obviously the loss of Hospital services are all completely down to her and her alone, but also everything that has gone wrong in Stafford, like the loss of manufacturing jobs to 'abroad', and outsourcing public services to shite 'service providers' can be directly sourced to her evil incantations.

Male pattern baldness? Also Julie Bailey.

I haven't actually watched it yet, is it any good?
Yes I did. Apparently patients drank out of vases, there was no lighting at all in the hospital and the A&E was based somewhere near Baghdad. Oh, and the worst Stafford accent was portrayed by the lead actor. Then I found out she was actually the closest born to Stafford - Lichfield.

Indeed

Accents change approximately every 10 miles where there is a high density population

Stafford has flat vowels, but less so than Stoke

Dunna, Wunna, Cunna, Anna

I Inna
Can't say I'd noticed an ethnic Stafford accent. Just put it down to the place being overrun by Stokie immigrants.

One thing i was there for was when the guy on the Support Stafford Hospital page, who had been a nurse on the Wards at the time, dropped the bomb that there were vases there, when it had become an article of faith that there could not have been.

There was much wailing, and gnashing of teeth.

It had become an article of faith that because that ONE thing was not true - patients could NOT have been reduced to drinking from vases because vases were 'banned' - NOTHING true could follow.

At a stroke he swept it aside, in the most casual manner possible.

It was funny as f...
