It was so sad this evening to see an old floodgate regular have no respect for the new guy at the Taphouse. He was slagging the place off in front of loads of customers & the new owner. New owner rightly so, stood up for his pub and threw him out. I find it so sad and rude that someone can do that in someone else’s pub & think it’s acceptable! Massive praise for the owner, he was calm, collected & dealt with him correctly!

That's a shame. I loved floodgate and I wish it was still open but I've been to the taphouse a couple of times and enjoyed it.
The Devil's Taphouse can't be blamed for the floodgate no longer being here.

It appears that there were 2 objections to The devils Taproom applying for a license for their craft beer shop they are trying to open. One from Icon nightclub and one from Express Curtains...

The Devil's Taphouse says -
"Overnight we have had 6 kegs of Craft Beer criminally damaged rendering them completely unusable and costing us as a business nearly £1000.
They have been purposefully stabbed with a knife, decompressing them & spoiling the beer. This is a purposeful attack at these kegs are quite tough to cut through!
We are incredibly saddened that someone would wish to do this to a small business & deeply disturbed as they would’ve had to have been carrying some form of weapon to do this.
If anyone has any information from between the hours of 9:30pm on Thursday 21st March through until 10am on Friday 22nd March please do message us. Staffordshire Police have attended and are also investigating."
