Went last night. Decor isn't great but we had a good couple of hours spending not a lot of money doing something different. The darts wasn't up to Flightclub standard but at £6 it was fun.

Six quid to get your birthday out of the way for another year - that lad's got his head screwed on right.

Walking past the Enpourium yesterday morning I noticed that there was to be a Drag act that evening.
I didn't know that sort of entertainment was offered in Stafford.

Hinge & Bracket must have played in Stafford, surely?
Yes, I'd forgotten them.
I've just seen that one of them, George Logan died on 21 May 2023 at the age of 78. I don't think that made the Stafford Newsletter.

When Mark and Mark ran the Bear they did a drag act on a Saturday.

Don't know it still happens though as haven't been in since they stopped serving real ale.

Likewise I haven't been in since they stopped serving real ale.
Other pubs are of course available.

Seeing how George Logan didn't come from sunny Stafford, he was Scottish, would they really bother?

It‘s odd that people can live in a town and yet have no idea what is going on under their nose.

Our wonderful Stafford Gatehouse Theatre has been putting on fabulous drag acts for years.

If @Mudgie perhaps took the time to look at their website he would see the following events coming up:

Four drag acts in Stafford! Yes 4!

9th Sept Ceri Dupree, Back To The Rhinestone. Fabulous reviews, amazing costume changes.

Oct 26th QUEENZ, The Show With BALLS (Dragtastic divas)

8th May 2024, definitely one for the diary, straight from New York, Carnegie Hall and Broadway.
To Stafford? Yes its Steven Brinberg who is “Simply Barbara“ an amazing Streisand impersonator.
Come see.

16 Nov 2024 The Dazzling Diamonds.

Stafford Gatehouse , something for everyone, who knew?

Full disclosure, I have an interest, I volunteer there.

Thanks, but going to see a drag act isn't 'on my bucket list' if I had such a thing.
Years ago I'd see what was on there from the regular advert in the Stafford Newsletter but I hadn't thought to look on their website.

Oh I wasn’t suggesting that you went, I was just saying that they were there.
The “Come see” was just a generic comment for anyone that might be interested.

I think some people might be surprised at how much is on offer at The Gatehouse.
61 different shows between now and Christmas and over 100 shows listed in total with shows being added all the time.

Anyway back to topic and The Emporium. I haven’t been, is It better on the inside than it appears on the outsid?
