Five of us had a smashing night here last night. Would never have guessed that this is a 'chain' pub.
A good, varied menu, good beer, I had their own bitter and the Italian house red was OK.
The three members of staff we came into contact with were really pleasant, like they actually wanted to be there and not just going through the motions until closing time.
Food and presentation was spot on. I had the slow braised shoulder of lamb for my main which turned out to be a half shoulder with dauphinoise taters and a selection of really nice, not overcooked veg.
All in all a winner.

Cycled past The Oakley today which they also own. It said it's going to be open this month...
