The "new" Bear inn.

I've visited the Bear a couple of times recently, mainly to watch the footie or meet a mate who likes to drink in there and there is a marked improvement in customer service and beer quality since the new team took over.

Also good to see all three handpulls working and bar staff that can actually hold a conversation with customers.

They're doing basic pub grub and it looked alright from what I could see as it was being served to a nearby table.

And finally spotted this on the door.

Meant to post this the other day. The Bear is open again and the refurb looks good. Loads of TV screens and moveable tables to make space for a dance floor by the bar.

Unfortunately the brewery have stopped Mark and Mark from using the kitchen and blocked it off which is a shame because the food was good and reasonably priced before the refurb.

After not going in the Bear since Mark and Mark left it is sad to report that the "new" Bear has degenerated back into the "old" Bear with 5 or 6 taps not available, no food, full of dickheads and closed with very little notice at 19.00.

I shan't be back anytime soon.
