The most recent update said "winter" for opening, so hopefully still happening. But the upfront costs involved must be eye watering.

The Top Of The World comeback as a live music place seems to have just been rebranded as a banqueting event type space for weddings and things like that

I couldn't quite imagine having a wedding reception there.

Hi, it's replacing Couture and Poptastic in town , so they'll be function rooms downstairs for smaller events and bands. Each room downstairs holds approximately 400 each, while upstairs around 1000.

Upstairs we will try and secure top acts to perform , and hold big events.

That poster is just advertising alternative events and uses.

The aim would really be to have it as Stafford's number one event space, similar to the O2 academy.

And work is already underway. I took this picture inside yesterday evening from one of the old club rooms which were currently being stripped back to the brick.

Thanks but I couldn't quite imagine having a wedding reception in a windowless room.

Or a Davenports pub.
They could have one each end of the main street just like Wetherspoons used to.
