The Post House, Stafford

Always found that an issue, if your customer can't contact you they are no longer your customer!
Having called Pastiche numerous times I thought I'd just fill the form in. The auto-reply I got said they'd get back to me within 72 hours! Considering I was intending to eat there tomorrow and couldn't contact them by phone, this is totally useless.

I will also post this in the Pastiche thread as it has nowt to do with TPH, other than they were 'suffering similar problems' not long ago. What a joke.

I've also had real problems getting restaurants to answer their phones recently. Had two days of trouble contacting Bella Italia, of all places.

The egg thing has happened to me before, in a different bar in London. No mention on the menu of the use of raw egg white, but the bar man insisted that was how it was served properly. On one hand, I think they'd realised we were working our way through the menu and decided to have a little fun with us, on the other hand, it really should be made very clear on the menu that egg is involved but you can ask for it to be removed. I hate egg, drank it anyway, and it was fine (I still prefer without) but wouldn't have been happy if anyone tried to force me to have an ingredient I didn't want!

My only visit to the Post House was a cocktail night, and we really enjoyed ourselves and had a really good member of staff serving us- but this was back during the Jubilee. Since then my friends have reported the same thing, slow rude service. They won't be going back.

For heaven's sake, who does your marketing?
Acts is plural. It doesn't need an apostrophe. What you have there is known as a grocer's apostrophe.
Jack Daniel's is a brand name. It is also possessive and does need an apostrophe. There is a clue because there is a photograph of the bottle, immediately below the error.

£12.5o a ticket. 4 tickets = £50. So your four tickets and a bottle 'offer' charges £50 for a bottle of vodka, and £70 for a bottle of JD?

Am I reading this wrong? Tell me I'm reading this wrong.

In fairness, I think the sort of person this is aimed at probably can't spell their own name never mind spot grammatical errors.

28 classic shots in a bottle, 20 extended. If 35ml shots thats £2.50 a shot, if its* classic then £1.80ish. I believe they charge a bit more than this if you buy it individually, although the apparent discounts on purchasing in bulk are not particularly attractive.

* apostrophe needed? I've been drinking said cider.

Don't blame the customers. The sums were probably worked out by the same marketing guru responsible for the copywriting.

Yes - for a shortening of it is to it's.

Whatever the sums, paying £50 for a bottle of vodka (probably cheap and nasty stuff as well) might lead people to thing that the purchaser was a bit or a nob.

Ludicrous price, agreed, but there is nothing wrong with Stolichnaya Vodka. Ваше здоровье!

Funny int it? The suggestion of paying £50 for a bottle of Vodka sounds risible - until you do the sums that tell you that you pay more than that via an optic over time.

I'm going to post my favourite piece of tv so far this year over there -> which deals in part with this phenomenon. (do do de do do)

I suggest the problem is that many are unaware if they need a bottle of vodka on their table, any who had studied the question would have had a decision before they entered the premises.

Being wrong in your personal affairs is acceptable, being wrong in your professional ones is less so. The flyer does not convey the standards that TPH usually promote, they should be told this surely?

Anyone heard of human error? Must be hard being perfect all the time hey guys!

Yes. We have heard of human error and we see an illustration of it almost every time The Post House uploads an e-flyer or menu. A professional organisation shouldn't be having a vague stab at the English language. To get it wrong so consistently looks careless and amateurish.

Their marketing material is creating a negative impression. That is a serious matter for any business in the current economic climate. If one human is making all the errors they need to change the human. Or add another one to check proofs!
